This Privacy Policy sets out how Blue Star Energy Pty Ltd (ACN 166 758 569), Efficient Homes Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 141 430 328) and Solar Assets Pty Ltd (ACN 168 191 848) (together “Infinite Energy”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, stores, uses, discloses and protects any personal information that you provide to Infinite Energy.

Infinite Energy is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. If we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, we will only use that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Any reference to “personal information” in this Privacy Policy has the meaning given to it in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (the “Privacy Act”).

 

What kinds of personal information do we collect

The type of personal information we collect is usually contact information such as an individual’s name, address, email address and telephone number. We may also collect the following personal information from you where necessary to conduct our business operations, in relation to:

  • applicants for employment – date of birth, CVs, medical and health information, emergency contact details, bank details and citizenship details (Employment Information);
  • customers – name, address, contact numbers, credit history, credit card details, electricity meter consumption data, information on the use of our products and services and preferences and interest (Customer Information); and
  • suppliers (usually in respect of sole traders) – credit history, resumes, bank details (Supplier Information).

We may collect further personal information from you that is not listed above.

 

Why we collect and how we use your personal information

We collect your personal information for the purposes of:

  • processing employment applications, recruitment and human resource management purposes;
  • providing goods and services to customers, including processing orders, billing and administering customer accounts, carrying out credit checks and scoring, setting up alternative payment services, carrying out market and product analysis and marketing our products and services ; and
  • ordering goods and services from suppliers, invoicing and administering payment of supplier accounts; and administering our contract of supply with suppliers.

If you do not wish to provide particular information, we may not be able to respond to your query, provide you with our products and services or assess your application for a product or service.

 

How do we collect personal information and where is it stored?

Infinite Energy will either collect personal information:

  • directly from you in person;
  • via our websites infiniteenergy.com.au ; or
  • from or have business relationships with.

We store your information in electronic form and hard copy.

 

Disclosure of your Personal Information

Infinite Energy may disclose your personal information for the purposes of conducting its business to:

  • third party service providers engaged by us such as , marketing, installers, electricity meter and billing providers, credit providers, professional advisors, debt collectors which may be offshore;
  • our related body corporates;
  • government and regulatory bodies; and
  • law enforcement agencies.

Your personal information may be transferred overseas. Countries to which your personal information may be transferred may include the Netherlands, Japan, Philippines, United States, Germany and Singapore. We may also store, process or back up your personal information on servers that are located overseas (including through third party service providers). Given the nature of how data is stored, either in the “cloud” or on third party servers located at multiple sites, mainly in the US and Germany.

This policy applies to your use of our websites and the personal information that you may provide via these websites.

Infinite Energy uses cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps us analyse data about web page traffic and improve our website in order to tailor it to customer needs. We only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Accessing and correction of your personal information

We will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect, use or disclose is:

  • accurate;
  • complete;
  • up-to-date; and
  • stored in a secure environment protected from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.

Upon your request, Infinite Energy will provide you access to your personal information held by us, except in certain prescribed circumstances, including emergency situations, specified business imperatives and law enforcement or other public interests.

How to make a complaint

If you believe Infinite Energy has breached your right to privacy of personal information, contact our Privacy Officer in the first instance and if we fail to respond, or you are dissatisfied with our response, contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (“OAIC”). The OAIC investigates privacy complaints from individuals about Australian, ACT and Norfolk Island government agencies, and private sector organisations covered by the Privacy Act. 

Before you can lodge a complaint with the OAIC, you will generally need to complain directly to the agency or organisation you are complaining about and allow 30 days for it to respond.  If you do not receive a response (after 30 days), or you are dissatisfied with the response, you may then complain to the OAIC.
