Infinite Energy to offer Solar PPAs in the National Market

The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has granted Infinite Energy an individual exemption from the requirement to hold a retailer authorisation under section 88 of the National Energy Retail Law.

This will allow Infinite Energy to offer commercial customers Solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) in most east coast states in Australia. Infinite Energy's Electricity Retailing arm Blue Star Energy already holds an Electricity Retailers License in Western Australia.

Infinite Energy has recently strengthened its east coast operations by appointing Greg Denton to spearhead its push into the large scale solar market from its Brisbane office.

Infinite Energy offers businesses across Australia an innovative way to install solar, and reduce and fix their electricity costs. A Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) relieves the need for you to provide any upfront capital in accessing the benefits of solar power for your business.

How does an Infinite Energy Solar PPA work?

With an Infinite Energy Solar PPA, Infinite Energy takes on full ownership and maintenance of the solar system on your roof. You only purchase the electricity generated by the solar system at a rate that is often much cheaper than your current daytime energy rate. In some cases, your solar tariff can be as low as 13c per kWh (unit).

Initially, Infinite Energy will perform a detailed assessment looking at your business’s electricity consumption profile, the available suitable roof (or ground) space, and the internal electrical infrastructure. We will then provide a recommend a solar power system to suit your business, in addition to pricing options.

Once you decide on the most suitable option for a Solar PPA, you will enter into an agreement to buy the electricity from the system for an agreed period of time, at an agreed rate. Infinite Energy will go ahead and project manage installation of the solar system. Once installed, commissioned and producing electricity, we will send a monthly bill for the electricity produced by the system (every unit of electricity bought from the solar system is one less unit that needs to purchase from the grid).

Solar Power Purchase Agreements allow commercial electricity consumers to benefit from Solar Power without the need to purchase a solar power system themselves. Infinite Energy's Solar PPA options deliver cheaper electricity from day one without the need for an upfront payment. Infinite Energy is responsible for installing and maintaining the solar system with the client simply buying the electricity over the life of the agreement.
