Obama talks Solar Power

After installing Solar Panels on the White House this week, President Obama explains how businesses investing in Solar is good for them, the economy, jobs and the environment.

 The video is well worth a watch - Obama outlines how the US is viewing the transition to Renewables (in particular Solar) as a huge opportunity for it's industry to lower its energy cost whilst creating jobs during the transition.

It's remarkable how Australia is going the other way with the current review of the Renewable Energy Target. Here is a policy which has generated billions in investment, created tens of thousands of local jobs, is actually lowering electricity prices whilst bringing about enormous environmental benefits and it's currently under review by the Abbott government.

Let's hope the interests of Australia's incumbent fossil fuel generators don't get to override a win/win/win situation for the rest of the country.
