Infinite Energy Managing Director Aidan Jenkins Named 2018 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist

Written by Infinite Energy

Infinite Energy’s own Managing Director, Aidan Jenkins has been named among the WA finalists for 2018’s Ernst Young Entrepreneur Of the Year awards.

EY Entrepreneur Of The Year is the world’s most prestigious business award for entrepreneurs. The program encourages entrepreneurial activity among those with potential, and recognises the contribution of people who inspire others with their vision, leadership and achievement.

As the first and only truly global award of its kind, EY Entrepreneur Of The Year celebrates those who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses, recognising them through regional, national and global awards programs in more than 145 cities in over 60 countries.

In addition to being Managing Director, Aidan is a co-founder of Infinite Energy. Under his leadership, Infinite Energy has grown to become one of the largest providers of commercial and residential solar in the country with offices across Australia. Infinite Energy is also a licensed electricity retailer in Western Australia.

One of ten finalists from WA, Aidan has been recognised for driving innovation in the energy industry and steering Infinite Energy through a period of uninterrupted growth. Infinite Energy was a pioneer of the third-party ownership model, offering Power Purchase Agreement for homes, business and government.

Mostly recently, Infinite Energy formed an integral part of Western Australia’s first green title residential PPA. Through the agreement Infinite Energy installs, owns and maintains the solar infrastructure while customers buy power at a rate that is 40% lower than grid electricity. The Amble Estate is expected to encourage similar residential solar PPAs to be rolled out across all future residential developments nationally, with a similar model then applied to existing dwellings.

Infinite Energy is also one of the only solar providers in the country that is both CEC Retailer Approved and ISO 9001 certified , in addition to being completely carbon neutral, and starting a carbon neutral program, Nature Bank, for  commercial electricity clients.

Prior to starting the company in 2009, Aidan worked in Senior Product Development Roles for large financial institutions in Europe and Australia including NAB, Standard Life and Navigant Consulting. Aidan has completed a Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Commercial Law, a Diploma of Financial Planning, and an MBA

Aidan will participate in the national finals in October, with the winner going on to the international awards in Monaco next year.

The finalists will be assessed by a panel of independent judges, including previous winners, across six criteria — entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, personal integrity and influence, financial performance, strategic direction, and national and global impact.

We are very proud to have Aidan leading the Infinite Energy team and wish him the best of luck for the national finals in October.
