Floreat Forum is a vibrant shopping centre located in Floreat, halfway between Perth CBD and the coast. Floreat Forum had a strong desire to significantly reduce the amount of electricity they draw from the grid and improve their environmental footprint. Investing in a commercial solar system looked to be the ideal solution.

Our energy consultants worked with Floreat Forum’s advisors, Hughes Advisory, to create an energy solution that maximised their return on investment whilst also helping to embed their sustainability values across the centre.

A feasibility study was completed to determine the centre’s current and future energy requirements. Solar energy consultants, Energy-Tec, then undertook a competitive tendering process.

“Infinite Energy stood out with the commercial solar proposal they provided, which satisfied every requirement of our client’s brief,” said Adam Wheeler, from Hughes Advisory.

Due to their commercial energy requirements and available roof space, Infinite Energy’s consultants selected Canadian Solar panels and Fronius ECO solar inverters to help the client achieve their desired system size with high quality components that provide superior performance, reliability and aesthetics.

As the largest commercial solar installation Infinite Energy has completed to date, the project was complex and challenging. 2,280 individual solar panels were installed across multiple roof spaces and the installation impacted all centre tenants, so communication and safety were high priorities during the installation.

“We were particularly impressed with Nick Pike and his projects team.  Their on-site team were always clean and respectful, which was important considering the impact that the large installation had on the shopping centre and its tenants.

We were always kept informed of everything as the installation moved through the different stages, and any issues were always addressed upfront. They were everything we could have wanted in an install team.”

The project utilitised over 16 kilometres of cabling, 5,037 square meters of solar panels and 30 solar inverter units. The environmental benefits of the commercial solar installation are equivalent to saving 5,000 trees or 1,256 tonnes of carbon dioxide.

Infinite Energy are proud to support Floreat Forum’s vision to work towards a renewable energy future. Click here to read our case study to learn more bout this exciting project.
