How Infinite Energy helped Urban Forager reach its sustainability goals through solar power
Urban Forager launched in 2012, then under the name of Forager Handmade Preserves. They had an immediate positive response from their customers and retail partners for their organic stock concentrates. Their organic product range are now available in a wide range of retailers across Australia.
The company focusses on sustainable processing techniques, sourcing high quality, local ingredients, supporting local farmers and producers, and continually developing and improving their recipes.

“Sustainability is of utmost importance to us; our previous facility had solar power and when we moved into a new commercial space, installing a solar power system was definitely going to be one of our first investments.” said company director Lou.
Lou, along with husband Ritchie, completed extensive research on different commercial solar systems and installers, focusing on the quality of the solar panels and solar inverters.
After reaching out to Infinite Energy, their commercial energy consultant worked with them to establish their current and future energy usage, to determine the best system for their needs.

We recommended and installed a 19.8kW SunPower system for Urban Forager’s Bibra Lake commercial facility, which will generate 32,175kWh of clean energy every year, lowering Urban Forager’s annual CO2 emissions by 25 tonnes.
Lou and Ritchie are happy that Infinite Energy were able to help them reduce their companies carbon footprint and helped it to meet their sustainability goals through their investment in solar power.
“Our customers would expect us to use sustainable energy sources, so we are meeting their expectations, but the biggest impact I feel we have is that our actions encourage other businesses to install solar power.” said Lou.
Urban Forager’s solar power system is estimated to almost half their electricity spend, saving them over $4,500 off their yearly power bills as well as saving the CO2 equivalent of 94 trees from deforestation each year!
